Hack the Town
Hack the Hood is thrilled to announce our upcoming two-day community code event, Hack the Town, in partnership with Google Play!
Hack the Town invites young coders of color, ages 16-25, to join us in a supportive, hands-on environment where you’ll work in teams to conceptualize and code creative apps from scratch, earning cash prizes along the way! The winning team will get the unique opportunity to further develop their app idea for deployment on Google Play, with support from Hack the Hood and a community of tech mentors.

Our learners have completed 8 weeks of Python or JavaScript fundamentals, developed an understanding of front/back-end web development, built relationships with a peer community, relationships with experts in the field while discussing the social justice aspects of technology and how it relates to our lives and communities.
